Rough Crowd December: Rough Rope

Is nothing sacred? Must we mix the crude with the beautiful? Blunt force and gossamer ties? The ancient with the primitive? Artistry with the profane?

Wait – that sounds hot.

Two of the most popular topics in kink in Chicago: rough body play, and rope. Like chocolate & peanut butter, hot dogs and jalapenos, and first dates & lube, the two should go together famously. I’m sure they often do, but how often have you seen a rope top do an amazing rigging only to start hitting like a sissy maid in a butch bar?

Yeah. It hurts my soul.

Fortunately, I’m going to be teaching on this very topic at Shibaricon this year (“Beating the Bound”), and this is a perfect time to harness the incubator of the Rough Crowd. Even though it’s different people every time, Rough Crowd has shown time and again to be populated with creative, intelligent, and helpful sick fucks. I’ve got some ideas of what to cover at Shibaricon, and I’ll bring that… and then let’s work through more ideas together.

Rough Rope:

  • Extra concerns when doing rough body play with rope
  • New possibilities that rope gives RBP people
  • New possibilities that RBP gives rope people
  • Fun ideas to use to torture rope bottoms

Things To Bring

  • Rope, if you have it
  • Partner, if you have it
  • Ideas (whether from experience or sheer creative thinking)
  • Diabolical streak

How Rough Crowd Works:

If you’ve never been to a Rough Crowd before (or if you just have questions), check out our “Rough Crowd details: What, Where, When, How”. It’s like a FAQ, but smaller.

A Favor:

Rough Crowd is successful because you guys make it successful. When I post these things, they get as far as the people I know on my own feed, and the few groups I post them in. But the more people this reaches, the better.

You can help! You can help get the word out by posting (or re-posting) about Rough Crowd, and linking to this discussion or the event page above, in any groups you’re a part of, or in your status. That helps spread the word beyond my own personal network, and we can reach a larger and more diverse crowd. The more the merrier, and new faces are always welcome and encouraged.

Post away, people! TIA.

Hope to see a bunch of you at Rough Crowd,

Rough Crowd Road Trip: Detroit

With any good, science-based endeavor, constant be experimentation is critical. Trying new things. Seeing what works. What happens if I press the red button?

Rough Crowd itself began as an experiment, and has already passed from experiment into ongoing event. So I’ve decided to try an experiment withinRough Crowd (because I’m just crazy like that): the Road Trip.

We’re taking the show on the road, as they say. I’m packing up my little notebook and my… well, my hands… and heading over to Detroit for two individual back-to-back events, sponsored by the awesome A2 TNG:

Friday, November 18, 2011

Friday’s class is above the shoulders and between the ears: “It’s OK To Hit Them (So Long As They’re Into That)” is a discussion class geared around getting in touch with your inner sadist/masochist/kink/etc. “Dr. Rough’s Relationship Advice” is a discussion roundtable about the hurdles that can come with D/s dynamics.

Friday’s class is open to everyone in the community. Take a look at the event page for RSVP info, pricing, full class details and to click the little “I’m going!” button.

Saturday, November 19, 2011

Saturday’s class is Rough Body Play, in two parts; before the break will be intro to Rough Body Play, including basics, safety, etc. After the break will be group-led advanced; whatever topics the assembled crowd wants to get into, we’ll get into! (almost – see the special note below.)

Saturday’s class is open to A2 TNG members, and includes a play party, and a potluck dinner. Take a look at the event page for RSVP info, pricing, full class details and to click the little “I’m going!” button.

A special note

Rough Crowd Road Trip: Detroit happens the 18th and 19th, the weekend after the regular Rough Crowd in Chicago (the 13th, always the second Sunday). This November, Rough Crowd will be on kicking, and to prevent confusion (and attrition), in the second half of Saturday’s class in Detroit, we’ll cover anythingexcept kicking.

Rough Crowd November: Kicking

Autumn in the Midwest: the leaves turn colors, the temperatures drop, Thanksgiving is coming up. Nothing really says “Autumn in Chicago” quite like a workshop on kicking people, does it?

Is it just me?

Punching, slapping, pinching… these are all fun pastimes, but what about when you need a little more power? What about the mind trip of the boot? Or, what about when they fall over and you just don’t feel like bending to hit them?

No matter what gets you there, kicking can be a wonderful part of rough body play, and needn’t wind up with a trip to the ER or dentist. We’ll talk about kicking with boots, kicking with bare feet, and kneeing too. (Hey, a knee is close to a foot.)

We’ll also talk about where to do these things, and how to incorporate them into a scene.

Please RSVP your interest at the event page!

Rough Crowd October: Ass Boxing with lilboxer

Rough Crowd: Ass Boxing with lilboxer!

Rough Crowd #3 was all about punching, and we had @lilboxer there on hand to give some pointers on boxing (the name’s not for nothin’, folks!), gloves, wraps, and that kind of stuff. A bunch of folks have said they’d love to have a session just focused on ass boxing, a specialty of lilboxer’s, and Rough Crowd is all about focus on one thing at a time, so October will be…

Ass Boxing with lilboxer!

How can you combine the cardio, fitness and fun of boxing with kink? The answer is Ass-Boxing. In this class, lilboxer will share her passion and joy of Ass-boxing, and demonstrate how you too can enjoy this special brand of kinky exercise. She’ll cover basics of form, technique and equipment. As a class, we will delve deeper into ways to form a bond with your punching bag, how to create a variety of sensations and responses, and how to ramp up the intensity to take ’em away. We will also cover the different methods needed for male bottoms vs female bottoms (bottoms – get it?), and show how even a straw-weight like her can make a real impact.

About lilboxer

After a lifelong passion for the sport, lilboxer started boxing in early 2004, and has dedicated herself to the sport, training with some of the best coaches for nearly 5 years, and continues to train today. After joining the public kink scene in 2006 she saw the opportunity to put the two together. While lilboxer is a submissive and does not Top, she sees the kinky sport of Ass-boxing as a service. Using her boxing skills to her kinky advantage, she makes the girls squeal in delight as she pummels the asses presented to her. The unique combination of a very psychical activity, the chance to hone her intimate pugilism and the satisfaction she sees in the eyes of her human punching bags has inspired her to bring Ass-boxing to more kinksters. lilboxer is a very attentive service top who wants to share her special brand of kinky fisticuffs, but don’t let that fool you…. Ass-boxing is an intense experience.

lilboxer lives in Chicago with her husband Roughinamorato and their dog Malcolm. Through teaching, she endeavors to give back to the community that has given her so much.

(And yes, if you were at Tryst last week and saw a little redhead boxing asses… yes, that was her.)

RSVP at the event page!

THINGS TO BRING:

  • Water bottles and water!
  • Gear if you have it (got gloves? wraps? anything? bring it!)

A Note On October 9th: The Chicago Marathon

October 9th is also the date of the Chicago Marathon. I know – it’s very inconsiderate of them to schedule in conflict with us, but they have, so we’ll just have to deal. What that means is that hotel rooms are largely already booked up (we’ve had some housing shares here in the past – who can help for October?), and local travel in the city will be… challenging. Surface streets are not all open, because, you know, there’s a marathon running down a bunch of them from the crack of dawn until 4-ish, and you can’t drive your car across the marathon path. In fact, the marathon goes within a few blocks of Rough Crowd, so you’ll probably want to overshoot to the South and West and come back. Street parking is limited, but we’ll still have the lot in back.

Take special care to plan your route getting to Rough Crowd, and use the freeways (or CTA trains – I can’t seem to find bus schedule changes, but rail will be fine) until you’re on the right side of the marathon path.
