Rough Crowd December: Building A Scene

People always ask – all this is great, but how do you build a scene with it?

Well… let’s talk about that.

There’s no one way to build a scene, so we’re going to have a roundtable (well, while sitting on the floor – you know what I mean). We’ll start with some ideas and frameworks, and open it up from there: how do you build a scene? How do you – as a Top or a bottom – like a scene to go? What do you love it when they do? What do you just hate it when they do? What derails a scene for you and how have you learned to get back on track in the middle?

Bring your ideas, your favorites, your stumpers… your questions and your experiences, and we’ll all learn a thing or two from each other about building a scene and exchanging the love. Where by “love” we mean “beating the hell out of each other.”

Age, race, gender identification, partnership status, poly, D/s, height, eye color… all do not matter here. If you think this sounds interesting, then yes, it isfor you.

This session of Rough Crowd will be talk and participation. While couples and groupings are always encouraged to come together (hey, isn’t that always nice?), it’s not a requirement to have a partner to come to Rough Crowd.

Please RSVP using the RSVP instructions, below.

Rough Crowd is successful because you guys make it successful. When I post these things, they get as far as the people I know on my own feed, and the few groups I post them in. But the more people this reaches, the better.

You can help on FetLife:

You can help get the word out by posting (or re-posting) about Rough Crowd, and linking to this discussion or the event page above, in any groups you’re a part of, or even in your own status. That helps spread the word beyond my own personal network, and we can reach a larger and more diverse crowd. The more the merrier, and new faces are always welcome and encouraged.

You can also help by following me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/roughinamorato) for for updates (and other random pervy things). Help by retweeting info about Rough Crowd; this helps spread the word even further. Thank you!

Rough Crowd November: Feminism and BDSM

We have a divergence from our regularly-scheduled instructional violence: in November, we have MrsB coming to talk about Feminism & BDSM in a little talk she calls….

The Feminist Pervert

What BDSM Taught Me About My Feminism, Sexuality & Shame

Considering all the bondage, beatings, skimpy clothing, and overtly sexual behavior intrinsic to the BDSM scene, an outsider might think it was no place for a feminist – yet that couldn’t be further from the truth. The kink community is full of strong, vocal feminists. But many people of all gender and sexual orientations still struggle to reconcile the things they want to do in the bedroom with their views on feminism and equality.

This class will discuss some common sources of confusion and internal conflict which kinky feminists face. I’ll talk about my own personal struggle to reconcile my feminism with my kink, and what I learned about myself and other people along the way. The class will not just be geared towards women – people of all genders, orientations, D/s proclivities and political beliefs are encouraged to attend.

About MrsB

MrsB is an intelligent, sexy, feminist, kinky, femme, heteroflexible submissive-leaning switch with a powerful supervagina, who thinks it’s funny that we kinksters identify our sexuality like finicky Starbucks customers order coffee. She enjoys rope, bondage, cuddling, laughter, good conversation, and violently brutal sex.

She has been an active member of the Chicago kink community since 2004, and is a nationally-known educator and demo-bottom for a wide range of bondage-, humiliation- and beating-themed classes.

Rough Crowd October: Introduction to Rough Body Play

We had a very positive reception to the It’s OK To Hit Them topic in September, so I decided to reach back and do a real intro class. This will be for newbies, people interested in learning about rough body play but not sure where to start, just starting out, ready to go past a little spanking. If you’re more advanced and want to join us anyway, everyone’s always welcome of course – but this is intended to be a real 101 day.

Age, race, gender identification, partnership status, height, eye color… all do not matter here. If you think this sounds interesting, then yes, it is for you.

Don’t worry. For the rest of you, we’ll be doing some advanced stuff soon. Stay tuned.

We’re going to talk about all kinds of hitting, and how it can be fun, enjoyable, erotic, and hot for everyone. We’ll also talk about how it can lead to other sexy things, and how to incorporate it into your playtime. If you’ve got a partner and you’ve both been curious but don’t know how to start – this is a perfect opportunity.

This session of Rough Crowd will be part talk, part teaching, and part practice. Couples are encouraged to come together (hey, isn’t that always nice?), but it’s not a requirement to have a partner to come to Rough Crowd.

Please RSVP using the RSVP instructions, below.

Rough Crowd September: It’s OK To Hit Them

OMG, where does the Summer in Chicago go? It’s already time for our September workshop.

There has been a tremendous influx of new people to the scene, and to Rough Crowd, in the last year, and I thought it might be a good time to slow down and do an intro class, a 101 level. So this month we’re going to do…

“It’s OK To Hit Them… So Long As They’re Into That.”

We’re all raised to be good members of society. We know we’re not supposed to hit people. We know we’re probably not supposed to like it when someone hitsus. So then why do we? What’s with all this, why do we like it, and what’s wrong with us??

Turns out, nothing’s wrong, we’re just different. And that’s what we’ll discuss.

This episode of Rough Crowd is a “between the ears” workshop, a leader-led active discussion on coming to grips (heh) with our inner sadists and masochists, and finding the path to enjoying what we enjoy, and understanding that our partners do too.

Please RSVP using the RSVP instructions, below.
