Cigar Chicago April Smoker

Smoker Date: Sunday, April 7, 2013

Our next smoker is Sunday April 7, 6:30-10:00 at Blue Havana. Kick back with a cigar or two and cigar camaraderie with other kinky cigar lovers. As always, we’re taking over the shop after hours, so it’s just us. BYOB is great; we will also be having our local whisky tutor to talk about cognac (see below)! Bring some whisky, bring some chocolate, but mostly bring yourself. We’ll have bootblacking, cognac tasting, a fantastic humidor, and most of all: good company.

Like a munch, it’s free to attend, but show the venue we appreciate them hosting us and patronize them: buy a cigar. Or two. Or accessories. Or something.

Cognac tasting
Cigars with cognac is a time-tested pairing, and our local expert, WhiskeyMaven, will be bringing some of the classic stuff to help us understand more about it. Napoleon and Josephine did it, why can’t we?

Bootblacking
Our local bootblack, Chgoleathergirl, will be there blacking boots for us as usual, and if you’ve never had your boots blacked while smoking a cigar and sipping cognac… some would say you have not yet lived.

For those who have never used the services of a bootblack before, they do their work for the love of and service to leather, but also often to raise money for various causes. In this case, Chgoleathergirl is raising funds for her and her Owner’s title bid (there’s a lot of travel involved – competing for a leather title gets expensive), so please consider being generous.

Who is Welcome
All genders, ages, experience levels, races, shoe sizes, sexual orientations and preferences, partnership status, poly, D/s, M/s, height, eye color, religions, pet preferences, fitness levels, tax brackets, and pizza topping choices are welcome (even all veggie pizza, if that’s your thing; your pizza is not my pizza, and that’s OK).

Bottom line: if you think this sounds interesting, then yes, it is for you. While couples and groupings are always encouraged to come together (hey, isn’t that always nice?), it’s not a requirement to have a partner to come.

Questions, please feel free to ask. I look forward to seeing you there.

Note that since Chicago requires anyone entering a tobacco shop to be 18 or up, and drinking requires you to be 21 or up, please plan on showing a state-issued ID if asked to do so.

Cigar Chicago February Smoker

It’s been way too long, hasn’t it? Is monthly really too often? I don’t know, but a gap of 2 1/2 months is way too fucking long!

This is what I know.

February sucks, and not in that good kind of way. So to give us all something to look forward to at the end of it, we’re going to have a smoker on the last Sunday, the 24th of February: 6:30-10:00 at Blue Havana. Kick back with a cigar or two and cigar camaraderie with other kinky cigar lovers. As always, we’re taking over the shop after hours, so it’s just us. This month there’s no booze demo (I know, I know – scheduling conflicts, we’ll have her back next time…), so be sure to plan your BYOB. Bring some whisky, bring some chocolate, but mostly bring yourself. We’ll have Angie and McTrouble bootblacking for us, a fantastic humidor, and as always, good company.

Like a munch, it’s free to attend, but show the venue we appreciate them hosting us and patronize them: buy a cigar. Or two. Or accessories. Or something.

For those who have never used the services of a bootblack before, they do their work for the dedication of the service and the service to leather, but also generally to raise money for various causes, so you should go into having your boots done expecting to tip them. In this case, Angie is raising funds for her and her Owner’s title bid – competing for a leather title gets expensive with all the travel involved – so please consider being generous.
