Welcome to Rough Crowd, a workshop of cordial, convivial, affectionate violence that takes place every month in Chicago. Real BDSM education (and education about real BDSM) since 2011.

Rough Crowd revolves loosely around rough body play; sensation-based power exchange play that uses just our bodies, with no tools or toys (that is, no paddles, no whips, no cuffs, etc.). We focus on a different type of skill or play each time, often with practice and coaching time as part of the day. (For the new: you will never have to do anything you don’t want to do. You’re not “committing” to anything just by showing up. See the FAQ for more.)

For those new to the kink and BDSM world, Rough Crowd is a very friendly and open environment, and deals with real-life kink and real BDSM. Consent and clarity of communication are always a given foundation for anything that happens here. We even have our own Code of Conduct and Abuse Policy, and we’re serious about it. We want everyone attending Rough Crowd to be comfortable in everything that happens here.

We have a different topic every month; all are welcome to come, regardless of whether you’ve been to Rough Crowd before, or your gender, role, familiarity with BDSM, experience, physical abilities, partnered status, or left shoe size.
